Pedodontics - Pediatric Dentistry
Children's first visit to the dentist should be fun and beautiful. Children are not born with a fear of a dentist but may fear from the unknown.
In our clinic, we explain to your child every treatment that your child will enjoy and are not intimidating with simple words. We want you and your child to feel comfortable from the first moment when you come to our clinic with your family.

World Health Organization (WHO) and the American Association of Pediatric Dentists Suggest…
Children should visit the dentist when they reach their first age. It is very important to be taken under control of your child's newly extracted teeth (starting to erupt between 6 months to 12 months) and to have regular dental care by a dentist starting from the beginning.
Your child's first teeth or ’’milk’’ teeth begin to erupt between 6-12 months and this period will continue until the age of 3 years old. During this time, your child's gums may become more sensitive than normal. To eliminate this discomfort, you can help your child relax by gently rubbing the gums with a clean finger or a cold, damp cloth, or you can get it from the teething rings.
Your child's teeth may fall out at different times during childhood. The permanent tooth usually begins to erupt after the age of 6 years old and can continue until the age of 21 years old. There are 28 permanent teeth in an adult’s mouth. (32 teeth, including wisdom teeth)
Once your child's teeth begin to erupt, be sure to check the inside of your child’s mouth every two weeks to see coloration and the signs like that the decays may occur. Remember, sugary foods and drinks can quickly penetrate to the new teeth, and the best way to prevent it is to have your child’s teeth brushed after every time your child eats. To ensure optimal oral hygiene, we recommend brushing teeth twice a day.
In infants, the tooth brushing should be started starting from the first tooth is erupted. When a baby's tooth erupts, the parents should brush their children's teeth with soft bristle brushes and a small amount of toothpaste. In children smaller than 2 years of age, do not use fluoride toothpaste unless your doctor or dentist recommends otherwise. Brushing your teeth can be fun and you can do activities with your child about tooth brushing techniques.
The dental floss usage is also very important in maintaining oral hygiene and it will be the best to discuss with your dentist about the subject of when your child can start the dental floss. If you notice signs of decays in your child's mouth, you should consult your dentist as soon as possible.
The tooth decays are experienced due to the sugar residues that damage your tooth over time and become acid by staying in the mouth. The children have a very high risk of the dental decay. There is actually a very simple reason for this; the reason for this is that young children and adolescents do not have regular habits to provide oral hygiene.
The fluoride treatment is recommended twice a year as well as tooth cleaning treatment. The fissure sealant pastes are also recommended for the treatment because they act as ’’filling” gaps in hard-to-reach areas and will prevent tooth decays to be occurred in these areas. These fissure sealants can last for years but will be checked by your dentist every time you visit a dentist.
